Growing from kitchen seeds- passionflowers and pomegranates

We've been encouraging everyone to have a go at growing things from the kitchen - seeds, plant tops, potatoes- anything that has a chance of sprouting. So, as a bit of extra encouragement, here are some plants which were grown from fruit seeds in November 2019:


First, the absolutely huge passion vine (which probably won't fruit in our climate, but we're hoping!)- it's grown branches which are each at least 10m long and has hundreds of flower buds on it. The bees are very happy with the nectar-rich flowers!




And second, the little pomegranate saplings- these should grow into middling sized trees which ought to fruit once they're old enough- and should be able to be grown outside once they're a bit bigger- but it's going to take a while...
