Activity of the day: Birdwatching (and Birdlistening too!)

Even if you're stuck in the house, you can still look out for birds and admire how they move and sound.

The RSPB website https://www.rspb.org.uk/ has fantastic guides to birds, including pictures, videos and sound files so you can work out which birds you're seeing- or just investigate all the amazing birds there are out there. If you're not familiar with them already, have a listen to the blackbird song- they're really beautiful: https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/wildlife-guides/bird-a-z/blackbird/

Birds you're likely to see out of your window include pigeons, magpies, crows, blackbirds, blue tits, robins and sparrows- plus lots of other species, depending on exactly where you are and what sorts of land you live near to. Gulls love landfill and will also follow mowing, ploughing or any other machines on fields- whether that's a school playing field or out on a farm!

Happy bird spotting!
